The job will be responsible to assist clients to decrease or eliminate the risks being undertaken in performing operational, financial and technological business processes assessment, assist management/risk owners to identify, understand, and manage risk tangled with their operations, and provide leadership.
Risk Management Consultant Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyse and assess potential risks to the clients.
- Develop risk management frameworks and strategies
- Identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation plans
- Conduct risk audits and prepare risk assessment reports
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement risk management solutions.
- Monitor and review risk management policies and procedures
- Provide training and support to clients on risk management practices
- Advise on regulatory compliance and risk-related standards
- Develop contingency plans for risk mitigation
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for risk assessments
Risk Management Consultant Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CRM, FRM, or PRM
- Experience with risk management software tools
- Proven track record in a similar consulting role or corporate or related fields
- Knowledge of industry-specific risk factors.
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in data analysis and statistical modelling
- 3 – 5 years of experience in risk management or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to detail and strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and methodologies
Salary range
- R730 000 – R1 750 000 per year (Johannesburg)
- Other jurisdictions estimated from $81,476 – $250,000 per year
