Location: Johannesburg 

• Evaluate clients’ financial information and make recommendations for improvements.
• Financial forecasting
• Financial statement preparation, maintaining accurate financial records, preparation of financial reports
• Ensure compliance and perform regular audits
• Update accounting computer systems
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Maintain nd update financial records and ledgers, ensuring timely and accurate data entry
• Work closely with clients to understand their financial information and records
• Help prepare tax returns and assist in audits by providing necessary documentation
• Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and enhance efficiency in accounting practices and services provided to clients.
• Advise clients on complex accounting advisory and financial reporting issues around deals (both and private) and other transformational activities
• Use their expertise to identify financial issues and opportunities and develop and implement solutions that can improve the financial performance of our clients.
• Provide training and support to clients on accounting and financial management best practices
• Provide expertise in financial and accounting matters that can help improve performance and compliance with regulations.
• Provide a wide range of services and support to help clients achieve their financial goals
• Develop and implement accounting systems and procedures to meet clients’ specific needs
• Balance financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Accounting Consultant Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
• Proven experience in accounting or financial consulting
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial management systems
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Experience in tax planning and compliance 
• Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and standards
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management 
• Proficiency in using accounting software and systems, such as QuickBooks and Xero.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary range

• R404 500 – R1 650 000 per year (depending on experience, skills and qualifications)
