We are looking for a Business Development Representative to act as a liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between Sales and Marketing teams.
- Assist sales by finding and qualifying leads, and also improve inventory by sourcing new vendors/customers.
- Qualifying leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
- Contacting potential clients through cold calls and emails.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
- Set up meetings and calls between prospective clients and Sales Manager.
- Report to the MD/Business Development Manager on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results.
- Presenting our company to potential clients.
- Develop compelling representations to communicate products quality.
- Liaise with potential customers to determine their needs and provide tailored recommendations.
- Demonstrate good communication skills, verbal and written and perseverance, dedication in cold calling and exceptional service to land new leads.
- Maintain comprehensive brand and products’ knowledge to maximize sales opportunities and meet set targets.
- Develop strategies to secure new clients through targeted prospecting and networking.
- Oversee contracts negotiations and closings, managing and sharing this entire process with Sales team.
- Demonstrate products to show potential customers benefits and advantages and encourage purchases.
- Drive the growth of customer base by identifying needs and providing tailored product solutions.
- Build sustainable pipeline harnessing multiple distribution channels and sales strategies. Develop deep knowledge presentations to communicate products quality.
- Responsible to work towards achieving growth in volumes sold, growth in market share and increased sales.
- Contact and schedule meetings with potential customers through cold calling or cold emailing.
- Build customer relationships and provide company’s products quality and advantages.
- Develop growth opportunities
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans.
- Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams messaging regarding products sales and marketing techniques.
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
- Track record of achieving sales quotas/targets.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce or similar software)
- Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
- Understanding of sales performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Development or relevant field.
- 4 years’ experience in business development or similar role.
Salary ranges
- R850 000 – R1,350 000 (per year depending on experience, skills and qualifications)
