An AI Strategist is a visionary role that orchestrate the integration of artificial intelligence into business strategies to boost efficiency, innovation and competitive edge. This expert identifies AI opportunities and ensures alignment with business objectives to drive sustainable growth.

Duties and responsibilities

• Strategically plan and manage AI initiatives to align with business goals and drive innovation
• Lead the adoption and integration of AI technologies across business units to solve complex challenges and create value 
• Assess new AI technologies and their potential impact on the business, recommending investments and technology adoptions
• Facilitate collaboration between departments to ensure that AI projects are effectively implemented and integrated
• Helping organizations develop and implement effective strategies for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations
• Conduct industry-wide research to identify organizations’ AI inefficiencies and develop customized solutions aimed at ensuring operational efficiency, competitiveness and profitability
• AI readiness and maturity assessment – speak with business leaders to understand their current data infrastructure. Conduct a comprehensive AI readiness assessment to know the gaps to be addressed.
• Developing an AI vision – based on the assessment, create an AI vision that aligns with the company’s goals.
• Data strategy – AI depends heavily on high-quality data to give accurate insights and predictions. Design a robust data management practice that ensures data quality, availability, and security
• Selecting the right AI technologies – select AI tools based on client companies’ needs, infrastructure and budget
• Implementation and integration support – modify the existing company’s workflows and train employees to ensure a seamless AI transition
• Change management – provide guidance to companies through the cultural and operational shifts that come with using artificial intelligence
• Continuous monitoring and optimization – after implementation, monitor the performance of the AI systems. Also ensure that the technology evolves to suit the clients’ changing needs
• Empower clients to focus on key strategic opportunities and execute a comprehensive AI business transformation
• Help organizations weave together human and technological capabilities to maximize value potential, productivity and innovation from AI
• Successfully deploy at scale and capitalize on the impact of AI on businesses

• Help businesses align AI to their business goals to build a competitive edge

• Develop AI strategies that transform companies’ products, create customer satisfaction, and deliver services with AI
• Develop AI and Automation strategies that identify opportunities, AI technologies and workflows for prime generative AI optimization
• Implement everyday AI with guidance on clients’ businesses
• Research, develop and implement AI technologies and custom solutions for project management and business efficiency, competitiveness and digital transformation
• Research and develop customized AI solutions based on the latest market trends and various industries. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to get these products’ solutions to our target market.
• Continuously developing strategies that highlight the benefits of AI Strategy Consulting Services to organizations across industries based on the latest market trends and tools.
• Stay ahead of AI trends and maintain a deep understanding of advancements in the field
• Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of AI technologies and adjust strategies as needed

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s or higher in Computer Science, AI, Business Administration or related fields
• Extensive experience in strategy development, particularly in AI or digital transformation
• Proficient in machine learning, statistical analysis, and software development
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-technical audience
• Strategic thinker with proven track record of executing successful technology integration projects

Salary range

• R700 000 – R1 870 000 per year depending on experience, skills and qualifications
